Liquid Fireworks - America the Great
This craft is both fun to create and a great decorating for the 4th of July holiday. It also doubles as a fun science experiment. Students can watch how oil does not mix with water and how the colors mix together.
Here are the supplies you will need: 1. Glass of warm water 2. Oil (any kind will work) 3. Food Coloring 4. Fork |
Pour about 4 tablespoons of oil into a glass. Then put in at least four drops of food coloring, different colors are best. Use your fork to stir the mixture and break up the food coloring into small beads. The smaller the better.
Carefully pour the oil mixture into the glass of warm water and watch what happens. Fireworks in a glass!
