Liquid Fireworks - America the Great

This craft is both fun to create and a great decorating for the 4th of July holiday. It also doubles as a fun science experiment.  Students can watch how oil does not mix with water and how the colors mix together.

Here are the supplies you will need:
1. Glass of warm water
2. Oil (any kind will work)
3. Food Coloring
4. Fork

Get your supplies ready and let's get crafting.

Make sure you have very warm water in your glass.  The first attempt at this we used cold water and it does not work.

You can use as many colors as you like, but make sure to not overload the oil with it.  Try to keep it to a total of 8 drops.

Pour about 4 tablespoons of oil into a glass.  Then put in at least four drops of food coloring, different colors are best.  Use your fork to stir the mixture and break up the food coloring into small beads.  The smaller the better.
